If you were already exploding with excitement over the previous lineup announced for WA’s Southbound 2014, well, hold onto your hats because the ride isn’t over. Today organisers have revealed another list of artists that will be making the journey westward following NYE.
It’s difficult to see which of the below acts are technically spearheading the new announcement, given the abundance of high profile artists. Former Smiths member Johnny Marr is sure to be well up there, as well as The War On Drugs – always a crowd favourite – and The Paper Kites who will still be fresh from their debut album release.
Beloved natives Emma Louise, Violent Soho, Horrorshow, Hungry Kids Of Hungary and the prodigious Oliver Tank will also be performing. The full list of additions is below.
Already the lineup for the sister event of Falls was bursting at the seams with Vampire Weekend, The Wombats and The Roots confirmed as main attractions. Southbound, the sister event of the east coast’s Falls Festival, will next year be held over two days on 3rd and 4th January.
UPDATE 15/10: Just when you thought they couldn’t cram any more goodness in there, Southbound have today announced the full lineup for the Coconut Club dance stage. Get set to shake yo’ rump to Anna Lunoe, Purple Sneakers DJs, Sosueme DJs and Tyler Touche, joining local acts Boston Switch, Charlie Bucket, DJ Mandy Bubb with L.C.Drums, DJ Swami Adima, Frankie Button, The Housejunkie, Micah, Mutchy & LZ, Pussy Shoogah and Slumberjack. Happy new year, indeed.
