Last week Stone Sour drummer Roy Mayorga suffered a minor stroke. The band have been forced to cancel a number of tour dates and have issued a statement on the their official website :
Roy is doing great and is expected to make a 100% recovery, but, in the meantime, all shows are off. Understandably. We apologize to all our fans and look forward to getting back out on the road, with Roy, in the coming months.
Earlier in the tour bass player Shawn Economaki had to leave for personal reasons and they continued the tour with a replacement bass player, so it’s understandable that with this news they have taken a break.
We spoke with Roy while he was in Australia on the Soundwave tour (Below) and he told us how he had found his home with Stone Sour. We wish him a speedy recovery so he can get back behind the drums where he belongs..
