Stonefield Channel Old School Heavy Metal On Sinister New Jam ‘Delusion’

Stonefield bring back the black magic and then some on their new ’70s riff-charged jam, ‘Delusion’.

The Findlay sorority’s dark, haunting track is packing some Black Sabbath-meets-Fleetwood Mac vibes and is probably best listened to while burning incense and speed-reading the Tibetan Book Of The Dead.

Packed with eerie mellotron lines, throbbing guitar riffs and sinister tubular bell chimes, this is probably the sisters’ deepest foray into the world of classic ’70s metal and prog.

“‘Delusion’ was inspired by an overwhelming feeling of knowing you are a speck in the universe, getting lost in your own mind,” the band explain. “We ventured away from classic song structure to create more of a journey, exploring synth sounds to support our love of a hypnotic sounding riff.”

To toast the arrival of ‘Delusion’, Stonefield have announced a pair of 2018 launch parties in Sydney & Melbourne (below).

It comes after they were announced on the lineup for next year’s SXSW to rep for the Aussies alongside Gang Of Youths & more.

Give their new jam ‘Delusion’ a spin below.
