Suicide Silence Vocalist Dies. R.I.P The Amazing Mitch Lucker

What an awful way to start the day. One of the genre’s most respected and admired figures has passed away overnight. Mitch Lucker was the one and only vocalist for seminal deathcore outfit Suicide Silence.

The band posted the devastating news on their Facebook this morning, explaining that Mitch passed away due to injuries received after a motorbike crash that he experienced not too long ago. Signing off “R.I.P. Mitchell Adam Lucker – We Love You Brother.” The band’s heartbreak is obvious in the short post:

There’s no easy way to say this. Mitch passed away earlier this morning from injuries sustained during a motorcycle accident. This is completely devastating to all of us and we offer our deepest condolences to his family. He will be forever in our hearts.

Lucker was beloved all around the world by his fans after he developed a habit of coming down to the barrier after shows to chat with them. The group found massive success in Australia and toured here often. Just hours before the bike crash, Lucker took to Twitter to post a photo of him in his get-up with the eerie caption “The dead are living…”. According to Toronto Sun.

The band are encouraging us to celebrate his life rather than to grieve his death, so get on the Facebook page and share your favorite Lucker moment/story/photo.

Mitch Lucker was 28 years old; his absence will be noticeable.
