SZA Is Working On An Album With Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker & Mark Ronson

American muso SZA has revealed she’s working on a full album with Tame Impala mastermind Kevin Parker and producer extraordinaire Mark Ronson.

Parker and Ronson already debuted a new song they made in collaboration with SZA earlier this year, and now the singer-songwriter has elaborated on her time with the pair.

In a new interview with Los Angeles Times, SZA says she’s been working on a new project with her musical BFFs.

“People grapple with labeling me as hip-hop, R&B or pop, and it’s interesting to me,” she says.

“I’m just making music. I listen to Stevie Nicks. I love classical jazz. I love folk. I love rap. I love Modest Mouse. I’m making an album with Tame Impala and Mark Ronson. When you try to label it, you remove the option for it to be limitless. It diminishes the music.”

SZA released her debut album Ctrl earlier this year, and at this stage it’s still unclear if her follow-up effort will be a joint project with Parker and Ronson, or a new album produced by the pair.

On Saturday, she took to Twitter to say, “Today I record finally.”

SZA will be in Australia earlier next year to perform at FOMO Festival, and she’s also got a few festival sideshows lined up.
