Tegan And Sara Have Announced Their First Album In Three Years

Written by Sam Murphy on March 12, 2016

Canadian sister duo Tegan And Sara have announced their eighth album Love You To Death.

Love You To Death is the follow-up to 2013’s Heartthrob and was produced by Greg Kurstin who has worked with pop heavyweights like Adele, Sia and Lily Allen.

The album will be released on 3rd June and while we don’t have any tasters yet we do have an album cover, which is a start. They have promised that there will be new music on 8th April.

The girls officially entered the pop world with their last effort Heartthrob which saw them leave behind their indie-rock aesthetic in favour of bigger anthems. Kurstin produced most of the tracks on the record, suggesting that their forthcoming album will also feature a more pop sound.

While the last album came three years ago, their last track was their collaboration with The Lonely Island Everything Is Awesome for The Lego Movie. That track nabbed them an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song.

In support of the forthcoming record, they have announced four intimate dates across America but nothing further than that. They were last in Australia in 2013 for Groovin The Moo. Let’s hope we see them back here with new tunes soon.

Check out the album cover below.
