The Gaslight Anthem Announce New Album ‘American Slang’

After a year most bands can only dream about in their garages, New Jersey’s The Gaslight Anthem cemented themselves in 2009 as the next big thing. Coming off the back of their album The 59 Sound, which saw a lot of people rate the record as the album of the year and decade, the lads are currently back in the studio working on their third full length LP titled American Slang.

Holing themselves up in New York at The Magic Shop with producer Todd Hutt, front man Brian Fallon has suggested the album will feature more direct, personal stories than on the previous releases. For a band that captures the heart and soul of American rock n’ blues, heavily influenced by The Boss, Bruce Springsteen, American Slang will undoubtedly be one of the most anticipated releases of 2010.

The record is scheduled for release in June 2010 through SideOne Dummy records and Shock distribution. For those not yet familiar with the groups work, Moshcam captured their 2008 show at the Annandale when they toured here. Check it out here.
