Thirsty Merc Just Announced A Huge National Tour For Their 15th Birthday

UPDATE: Thirsty Merc Announce 2018 ‘Take Me Back’ Anniversary Tour

ORIGINAL STORY: Aussie rock stalwarts Thirsty Merc know just how thirsty you are for their hits, so they’ve announced a huge national tour in celebration of their 15 years as a band.

Rai Thistlethwayte, Phil Stack and Matt Smith are heading back out on the road in November and December of 2017 for the ‘Take Me Back Tour’, which will include 20 shows around Australia.

“It’s thanks to the fans that we’re still here, loving life and music, 15 years later and this tour is a big ‘thank you’ to everyone who’s sung along with us over the years, as well as a great opportunity to dust off some songs we’ve never included in our shows,” says Thistlethwayte.

Formed by Thistlethwayte, Stack, Karl Robertson and Matthew Baker in 2002, Thirsty Merc had their big break in 2004 with the release of their self-titled debut album, which spawned hits like ‘In The Summertime’ and ‘Someday Someday’.

The band have released three other albums since then, including their latest, 2015’s Shifting Gears, which they released totally independently.

If you’re thirsty to see the band celebrate 15 years together, peep all the dates for their ‘Take Me Back Tour’ below.
