If you’ve been too distracted by his consistent output of utterly quotable comedic performances, it may come as a surprise that Michael Cera is also a talented musician. Of course, we all remember that tender scene at the end of Juno, but now Hollywood’s go-to awkward guy has an album.

“Michael Cera was born in Canada in 1988 at the tender age of zero” – that’s Cera’s bio on Bandcamp, where his debut full-length non-studio effort, True That, is currently streaming. Yes, Cera is now a proper muso and if his pal Jonah Hill‘s word is anything to go by, it’s a “great” effort.

“My great friend Michael Cera not only is a brilliant actor, he also makes great music,” tweeted Cera’s Superbad co-star. The 18-track album is an eclectic collection of lo-fi tracks that run the gamut from indie folk and alt-country, to strange, cacophonous noise experimentation.

The entire homespun epic is available to purchase via Bandcamp for $7 and includes three bonus tracks upon purchase. It’s the culmination of Cera’s musical talents, which in the past have seen him contributing vocals on a Weezer album and playing bass for indie supergroup Mister Heavenly.
