Perth psych rockers Pond will soon grace the stage of upcoming St Jerome’s Laneway Festivals and have now also announced two extra headline shows for Sydney and Melbourne in celebration of their upcoming new album Man It Feels Like Space Again.
Pond will play Melbourne’s Corner Hotel on Tuesday, 3rd February, followed by Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory on Thursday, 5th February, armed with their forthcoming album, Man It Feels Like Space Again, due out on Friday 23rd January.
Pond have also today unveiled their new second single, Zond, accompanied by a delightfully bizarre video directed by Lord Fascinator. The video was filmed in December on the band’s arrival home from touring the US.
On the video Lord Fascinator writes, “Probably the hardest part of making this was finding three elderly citizens who looked identical to what our computer projections told us Jay, Joe and Nick will look like in the twilight of their lives.”
“The conjoined twin scene was a little trickier as we used stem cells from each band member to grow an extra torso and head which we later sewed on,” he adds. “Now, normally this takes about 6 – 8 weeks but thanks to our friend and mentor Professor Vincenzi Vandella we were able to expedite this process in his Juggertron laboratory and have them available within mere hours.” Enjoy!
