“Amazing” New Green Day Music Is Coming, According To The Band’s Longtime Producer

That band Green Day? So hot right now. After playing their first show in over a year and being inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, the band now have fans frothing over the prospect of new music.

According to longtime producer Rob Cavallo, it’s coming in the not too distant future, and it’s already sounding “fantastic”. In an interview with Kerrang! Carvallo forecasts that Billie Joe Armstrong & co are set for an “amazing” musical return.

“I recently heard five new songs that Billie has written and demoed,” he said. “Let me tell you, they were just fantastic. He is absolutely at the top of his game. Fans can be sure that when they do return, the music will be amazing.”

And Cavallo should know. The hotshot producer, who’s also worked with the likes of Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance and Paramore, has produced every Green Day album since 1994’s Dookie.

Green Day themselves, who last visited Australia for Soundwave 2014, haven’t released any new material since capping off their trilogy of albums, Uno!, Dos! and Tre!, back in 2012 (unless you count their 2014 Record Store Day demos LP).

Before hitting Australian shores, the band announced their intention to take an extended break from touring and recording. It looks like that mini-break is now broken.

Of course, if you’d rather hear some classic Green Day, you can check out footage of the guys playing a high school gig back in 1990, which recently resurfaced on the internet. Ah, memories.
