James Hetfield has been captured on video performing Motorbreath with nothing but an acoustic guitar.
The Metallica frontman was performaing at his annual charity fundraiser ‘Acoustic-4-A-Cure’ – co-founded with fellow US rock legend Sammy Hagar and created to raise money for research into children’s cancer.
As well as Motorbreath, Hetfield also treated the crowd to a rendition of The Unforgiven and a cover of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins’ track I Put A Spell On You. Hetfield was joined during his set by Tommy Lee, Joe Satriani and his daughter Cali, while the rest of the show featured Kris Kristofferson, John Mayer and Melissa Etheridge.
Metallica’s 10th album is expected to be released this year, drummer Lars Ulrich revealed in April. “It’s almost done”, said Ulrich. “The record is well on its way. It may come out any century now, actually”.
