Don’t worry you guys, 2016 has not yet claimed Jack Black.
Fans have been going Chernobyl after the Tenacious D Twitter account fired off a series of tweets indicating that the singer had passed away:
And fears were fuelled by reports that more than 80 people had been injured – 8 of those seriously – after lightning struck German festival Rock AM Ring while the D were on stage.
But don’t worry you guys, it turns out the tweets were the result of a cruel hack.
Not only was Black was partying with Diplo – who sent fans a snapchat of the two posing together – at around the same time that the tweets indicated he’d passed away…

…Tenacious D’s own guitarist John Konesky – who performed with the band at Rock AM Ring – has just confirmed that the band’s Twitter account was compromised and that Jack Black’s supposed death is a big ol’ crock of BS:

So relax you guys, JB will live to rock (and probably inflict us with another Kung Fu Panda movie) another day.
UPDATE 05/06/16 10.07pm: A new update from the Tenacious D Twitter has confirmed the frontman is still alive, but it’s unclear whether it’s come from the band or the hackers.
