UPDATE 31/08/2016: The full list of dates and venues for Laneway 2017 have been revealed, as has a date for when the lineup will be unveiled.
ORIGINAL STORY: St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival has reached massive heights over the past couple of years, transforming from a small boutique party into one of Australia’s most sought-after yearly festivals. The lineup for the 2017 edition is likely still some time away from being announced, but we may have just found out who one of the first acts on the bill is.
In an interview with the BRAG, British artist Nao – whose debut album is set for release this Friday, 29th July, revealed that she had been approached to play the festival in 2017.
“I think that I’ve been asked to do Laneway Festival in Australia, and that is really exciting for me,” said the electro/soul artist. “My band and I never thought we’d get this far, to be touring or have the opportunity to come out to Australia, and I’ve just got to find the money, but I think we’ll be coming out in January.”
Having proven herself on the big stage with an incredible set at Glastonbury 2015, Nao would be a massive coup for Laneway, setting in motion the possibility that 2017 will be the festival’s best edition to date.
This year’s Laneway lineup featured the likes of Grimes, Flume, CHVRCHES, Violent Soho, Fidlar, Big Scary, DMA’s and a heap more.
Stay tuned for more Laneway information as it comes to hand.
