Brisbane’s Layer Cake have splashed us in the face with a refreshing burst of jangly indie-rock goodness.

Dubbed ‘Empty Promises’, the band’s sunny new bop was produced, engineered and recorded by Matt Redlich (Ball Park Music/Holy Holy/Emma Louise) at Melbourne’s Head Gap Studios and The Aviary.

“Layer Cake’s second self-acclaimed smash hit single soon to be your new favourite song is our empty promise to you,” the foursome explain. “Coming atcha full of sweetness and that extra tang!”
