From the bright lights and big stage to an intimate funky venue space Ruby Rabbit, Future Entertainment continue to welcome high profile local and international artists at their weekly ‘Fanclub Fridays’ and ‘Yellow on Saturdays’. With French DJ/Producer ‘Tepr’ on Friday 24th April and local Australian artists ‘The Ashton Shuffle’ on Anzac Night, in these three different levels with brand new spaces to explore, it’s no surprise the Sydney social set have taken up residence.
From the world capital of electro, French artist Tepr or Tanguy Destable has just sold out his US tour along with US electro star, Yelle (Wall of Sound/Kitsune). Best known for the commercial success of his latest Albums ‘En direct la cote’ and ‘Minuit Jacuzzi’, Tepr brings his bag of the latest tracks and party tunes to the intimate surrounds of Ruby Rabbit. Expect influences and sounds from Daft Punk, Beastie Boys, Dr Dre, Aphex Twin, Queen, Nirvana, Les Rythmes Digitales, but also all the alternative music that came out in the 90’s – drum’n bass and house.
Just 5 years ago, the three likeminded musical geniuses from Canberra – Mikah Freeman, Vance Musgrove & Ross McGrath instituted their digital label project, dubbed ‘The Aston Shuffle’. As the sound of dance has changed in Australia to the electro & tech house sound it is today, the group has become heavily in demand for their white hot remixes – a little electro, a little techno, but all house. Their remixes have appeared everywhere from inthemix.com 2006 CD to Ministry of Sound’s Annual 2007 and the strong support for their record ‘Feel My Shit’ even saw them move into the ARIA Club Chart. With much in the pipeline including some new high profile remixes under their various guises for Hussle Black, Morrison Recordings, Spinout Recordings, some new material with Chris Lake, new original tunes, the boys are set for another extremely busy year.
