The National, The Weeknd, Matt Bellamy & More To Feature On Game Of Thrones-Inspired Album

Game Of Thrones is literal days away from its final season, and now HBO have announced new album For The Throne, inspired by the hit show, and it is absolutely stacked with stars.

The National, Muse’s Matt Bellamy, Mumford & Sons, ROSALÍA, Ellie Goulding, James Arthur, The Lumineers, A$AP Rocky and more have all provided contributions to the blockbuster record.

On top of that, as reported earlier this week, The Weeknd will be joining forces with Travis Scott and SZA for the album.

In fact, this isn’t the first time The National have helped contribute music associated with the massive series. They wrote the song ‘The Rains Of Castamere’ – yeah, let that take you back to a dark place – for the show back in 2012 when it was still in its relatively early days.

The album is available for pre-order on 11 different vinyl configurations. There’s nine different ones that represent each different house crest, one that has the colouration of fire and ice and one that is standard.

For The Throne drops Friday, 26th April. The final season of Game Of Thrones airs on Monday, 15th April on Fox Showcase.
