Ruby Fields has thrown Splendour In The Grass a massive curveball during her set, in the form of a surprise cover of a Britney Spears classic!
In what’s being touted as one of the highlights of #SITG2019 Day 2, the Cronulla indie-punk songstress busted out a rocked-up cover of Brit’s 2003 chart-smasher ‘Toxic’, complete with a live string section.
She knew full well what she was about to unleash upon her unsuspecting Splendour crowd too, preempting the frenetic rendition of Brit’s dancefloor-filler by telling punters: “I’m guessing you’re going to be pretty unguarded for this moment… seriously, you actually have no idea what’s about to happen”.
