Her father and conservator, Jamie Spears, filed a petition to end the arrangement that has controlled his daughter’s life and finances and received heightened scrutiny in recent years.
Filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday, the petition from Jamie Spears’ lawyer states: “If Ms. Spears wants to terminate the conservatorship and believes that she can handle her own life, Mr. Spears believes that she should get that chance.”
Lorde released third album Solar Power last month, having previewed the record with its title track, ‘Stoned at the Nail Salon’ and ‘Mood Ring’. The New Zealand-born singer is set to play a string of Australian shows in 2022 as part of her Solar Power world tour.
