BTS Member RM Features On New Lil Nas X Remix ‘Seoul Town Road’

Another day, another new remix of Lil Nas X‘s seemingly unstoppable ‘Old Town Road’.

This time around, a member of South Korean boy band BTS has joined the fold alongside Lil Nas, with the track featuring the band’s RM, and retitled as ‘Seoul Town Road’.

With no signs of the Nas hype wagon slowing down, this is now the song’s fourth official remix. You may recall the track’s first remix, which featured country music legend Billy Ray Cyrus. Lil Nas followed it up with another remix earlier this month, including rapper Young Thug and the “yodelling Walmart kid” Mason Ramsey, pairing it with a very memey Area 51-themed animated music video.

Meanwhile, a slew of artists have come out of the woodwork to suggest collaborations (including Mariah Carey and Smash Mouth), and iconic new wave band Blondie have recently been covering the track at their live shows.

All of which is to say, ‘Old Town Road’ remains a fairly mammoth cultural juggernaut. The original remix (featuring Billy Ray Cyrus) has just entered its 16th week at the number one position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, which is pretty damn wild. Gunning for the record of most weeks spent at number one, it’s now tied with the only other two songs to ever reach the 16-week milestone – the Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber track ‘Despacito’ (in 2017) and Carey and Boyz II Men’s ‘One Sweet Day’ (back in 1995).

It’s already surpassed the likes of Whitney Houston’s ‘I Will Always Love You’, Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ ‘Uptown Funk’ and The Black Eyed Peas ‘I Gotta Feeling’, all of which only managed a comparatively meagre 14 weeks.

Another week and it will stand alone as the only track to reach 17 straight weeks as #1.
