The Roache-Turner Brothers’ Second Film, Nekrotronic, Will Open Australia’s SciFi Film Festival Next Month

The highly anticipated second feature film, Nekrotronic, from writer/director, Kiah and writer/producer, Tristan Roache-Turner, will be making its Australian debut opening the Australian SciFi Film Festival in September.

Roache-Turner debuted back in 2014 with their first feature film, Wyrmwood: Road Of The Dead, and since then, they’ve been working hard on their second feature film, which was filmed entirely in Sydney.

“My brother and I have wanted to make a crazy-fun, Aussie comic book movie like this since we were about 12 years old and now, we’ve finally done it!” Kiah said.

“I’m super-stoked that we’re going to premiere at the 2019 SciFi Film festival and that Australian audiences will get to see the movie the way it was supposed to be seen: big & loud on a giant fifty-foot screen!”

The film picks up after a millennium of battles between demons and a secret order of demon hunters, known as Nekromancers. These evil forces have managed to possess souls through social-media apps. The dystopian tale puts every Wi-Fi connected soul on the planet at risk. A small team of Nekromancers find themselves having to rely on a hapless sanitation worker, Howie (Ben O’Toole) due to his ancestral power that he unwittingly holds. He has the power to force the evil offline, but can he do it?

Opening night for the film is set to be a huge one, with the SciFi Film Festival’s Program Director Simon Foster letting us in on a few key details.

“Nekrotronic is going to amaze and astound audiences on Opening Night,” Foster said. “The Roache-Turner Brothers will be attending to front what promises to be a wild Q&A; we’ll be offering a glimpse inside the Nekrotronic universe via a Virtual Reality experience; and, expect visits from the demons that populate Kiah’s insanely entertaining second feature. It will be a festival screening event like never before.”

Following the Sydney premiere on Friday, 6th September, special event screenings will happen in Melbourne on Saturday, 7th September and Adelaide and Brisbane on Sunday, 8th September.
