Roland Tings Shares New Track, ‘Up Close’ & Announces Live Album National Tour

It’s been a while in the works for Melbourne producer Roland Tings, but he’s edging ever close to sharing his second full-length record, Salt Water with the world.

The record is set to be released in full on Friday, 8th November via Cascine, and will feature two already-released singles, ‘Hiding In The Bushes’ and ‘Always Rushing’ featuring Melbourne’s Mild Minds.

Today, he shares a third cut from the record titled ‘Up Close’.

The club-ready track propels his immaculate attention to detail to the fore, giving us huge depth that feels similar to artists like Four Tet or Caribou. It’s a huge club cut, with the vocal sample being taken from London artist Alyss’ track ‘T S I E R’.

“I knew that I needed a really euphoric track in the first half of the record to propel the LP forwards,” he explained. “When I heard the original vocal by Alyss, I knew that it was perfect for what I wanted. The production of her voice was psychedelic, and the lyrics fit with exactly what I wanted the record to say”.

He’ll be headed out on tour this December to support the record. The five-date tour will see him perform the record live in cities across the country. Check out the details below.
