9 Songs Are Going To Debut In Saturday’s Hottest 100 Of The Decade

We are just one sleep away from triple j counting down our collective Hottest 100 of the Decade. Today, they’ve spilled some more teasers on the countdown to prepare us.

Just yesterday, the national broadcaster let us know that the number one year in the countdown is 2012, 49 of the tunes are homegrown, and more females voted than males. You can check out the breakdown here.

Now, we have news that quite a few of the tracks placing in the Hottest 100 of the Decade are like a fine wine, they’ve improved with age. Nine of the tracks in this Saturday’s 100 have never made it into a Hottest 100 before.

RÜFÜS DU SOL’s ‘Innerbloom’ is currently being championed for the Hottest 100 of the Decade by fans. It placed at #105 in the Hottest 200 of 2015. Warm Tunas currently has the tune at #4 and its What So Not remix at #66.

Head here to read up on the other nine bangers that didn’t make a countdown.

On top of that, 12 of the songs making their second appearance in a countdown are going to place higher than they did the first time.

The song that’s improved the most with age has jumped a whopping 74 spots. Meanwhile, the biggest drop for a song is a crazy 93 spots.
