Bee Gees’ Old Sydney Rehearsal Space Goes Up For Auction

If you’ve got a spare couple of million dollarydoos in your back pocket, you could buy yourself a slice of music history. Namely, a Sydney house that the Bee Gees used to use for band prac.

According to a new listing by Realestate.com.au, a home in the beachside suburb of Bronte is going under the hammer, and here’s the kicker: the legendary disco trio (whom FYI Slipknot’s Corey Taylor affectionately refers to as “the Australian Beatles”) used to rehearse in the garage, back before they released their mega hits ‘Stayin’ Alive’, ‘Lonely Days’ and ‘Tragedy’.

“The property has since been transformed by Sam Marshall Architects and is radically different from when young Barry, and twins Robin and Maurice Gibb — who lived around the corner in Kent St in 1964 — belted out tunes there,” the listing reads.

Current owner, interior designer Shellie Conway, reckons the home’s Bee Gees link was hot goss about the neighbourhood back when she and her husband first bought the house in 1995 for $340,000.

“It’s a bit of folklore … a fun fact,” she said.

“If you’re going to be isolated, this is the type of house you want to be in.”

The four-bedroom, two-bathroom residence at 88 Macpherson St is set to go under the hammer in an online auction on May 2nd, with a $3.3 million price guide, and you can check it out here or peep some of the pics below.
