Weezer Are Debuting A New Single On ‘The Simpsons’ This Weekend

Everyone’s favourite 90s/00s rock band, Weezer are debuting a new single this weekend, via The Simpsons. The episode, which is set to air on Sunday night, will be called ‘The Hateful Eight Year-Olds’, and Weezer are set to play a bunch of old songs on it as well as their new single, ‘Blue Dream’.

Of course, for rock/emo/punk bands, getting your own episode on The Simpsons is a pretty big deal. Weezer will be joining the likes of Paul McCartney, Blink-182, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Cyprus Hill, the Ramones, Metallica — the list goes on.

In the episode, Weezer are set to voice a cover band aboard Homer and Marge’s cruise ship, called Sailor’s Delight. We’ll apparently be treated to fave hits from The Black Album and Pacific Daydream.

On top of the Simpsons news, Weezer also dropped a new single yesterday. It’s called ‘Hero’ and it’s catchy AF. ‘Hero’ has this sweet, anthemic pop-rock vibe, so good.

You can catch the new single, along with Weezer’s take on The Simpsons’ theme song down below.

Prior to the global pandemic, Weezer announced they’d be visiting Australia with Fall Out Boy and Green Day as part of the Hella Mega Tour.

The tour is meant to kick off this November. We haven’t received news on whether the tour will continue as planned just yet.
