PREMIERE: Auckland Pop Trio Valkyrie Offer A Much-Needed Dose Of Optimism With ‘Good Thing’

2020 has been just one dumpster fire after another, which is probably what makes a glittering pop banger like Valkyrie‘s ‘Good Thing’ all the more essential.

With guitar lines and groovy melodies akin to what you’d find from Kira Puru or on Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories, it’s the punchy pop jam Australia needs right now.

“Imagine being stuck in isolated nature for a week, surrounded by The Beatles, The Stones and Jimi Hendrix. No cell service, just vinyls of the classics and friends,” Valkyrie guitarist Rebel Reid said of the track.

“We had a ‘good thing’ going and what you hear in the song is how we felt whilst writing it.”

This single marks the band’s first official release in Australia, after a string of successful songs across the Tasman.

Listen to ‘Good Thing’ below. The track is officially out this Friday, August 7.
