Check Out This Sydney Band’s Blisteringly Heavy Cover Of Billie Eilish’s ‘Bad Guy’

Sydney alternative hard-rockers Bad Moon Born have given Billie Eilish’s triple j Hottest 100 of 2019 topping hit ‘Bad Guy’ the metal makeover we didn’t know we needed.

Injecting Eilish’s dark pop chart-smasher with a wall of grooving riffs, wah-drenched guitar lines and a big dose of theatrical, horrorcore swagger, the fivesome have taken this well-worn radio staple to a whole new place, and it’s a whole bunch of blood-spattered fun.

“Whilst we’re beginning to move towards a much heavier sound, we’re also starting to pull a bit of influence from modern dark pop,” explains the band’s freshly-minted frontman, Jordan Von Grae.

“As the new direction is quite a deviation from the previous iteration of the band, we felt this cover to be a great bridge for that transition. Some of us are also quite big Billie Eilish fans, so the process of re-imagining her work was a lot of fun.”

The cover follows on from the release of the band’s self-produced single ‘Noxa’ earlier this year, and comes as the band are hitting the studio to record a new EP, due out in 2021.
