Tory Lanez Receives Court Order To Not Come Within 100 Yards Of Megan Thee Stallion

Content warning: This article discusses alleged violence against women

A judge has issued Tory Lanez with a protective order that says he can no longer make contact with or come within 100 yards (a little under 100 metres) of Megan Thee Stallion.

Last week, Lanez was charged with felony assault, following his arrest in July for concealing weapons. Megan alleged that Tory shot her in the foot that same night.

Lanez was set to appear in court for an arraignment on Wednesday, 13th October but that has since been postponed to Wednesday, 18th November.

If he’s found guilty, he faces a prison sentence with a maximum of almost 23 years.

However, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Miguel Espinoza has still given a protective order to Lanez, prohibiting him from contacting or coming near Megan Thee Stallion.

Lanez’ attorney was present for the issuing of the order, while Lanez himself attended via telephone.

In other news, Megan Thee Stallion delivered a powerful op-ed for The New York Times today titled ‘Why I Stand Up For Black Women‘, where she briefly addresses the alleged shooting.

“I was recently the victim of an act of violence by a man,” she wrote.

“After a party, I was shot twice as I walked away from him.”
