Trapt Cancelled By Facebook, Profile Deleted For Community Standards Violation

Trapt’s Chris Taylor Brown has been having an interesting one on the socials this year, so strap in for this one. Revealing he sits on the far right of the political spectrum, the band’s frontman has been sharing election conspiracy theories and a lot of love for the Proud Boys group, a far-right, neo-fascist extremist group.

So, Trapt posted a graphic of a Proud Boy’s silhouette holding Lady Liberty with words that read, “Don’t Worry Girl, We Got You.” He added the group into the post’s caption, writing, “POYB (Proud of You, Boy).”

The post was clearly reported and as a result, Trapt’s Facebook page was deleted.

Jumping on the band’s Twitter, Brown wrote, “For posting this pic … Facebook has completely deleted the TRAPT FB account.”

“They said don’t use the phrase ‘Proud Boys.’ I specifically told FB trapt fans that I could not say the name. I will be suing Facebook.”

Another tweet saw Brown argue against the group’s label as a white supremacist group. “Proud Boys are a defensive group. Those boys were out there to protect those who want to protest without being attacked.”

Quote tweeting a journalist, who had published a Vice opinion piece, he ended with, “We can all be violent sometimes…”

He replied to the same tweet saying, “I will meet you in person soon… We can have a talk about why you lie so much.”

Brown has tweeted from the Trapt account again saying his personal Facebook and Instagram profiles have been deleted.

“FB really has it out for me,” he said.
