Watch Drake Accept The ‘Artist Of The Decade’ Award At BBMAs With His Son

Yesterday, Drake was honoured with the ‘Artist of the Decade’ award at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards, and he accepted the trophy on stage joined by his son, Adonis.

After an expansive introduction by his friends and family, and a video montage where his considerable achievements were rattled off, Drake walked to the stage with his 3-year-old son to accept the award.

“Even if I do a good job I always wonder if I could have done better,” Drake said, before delivering a speech about how he’s critical of his own work and success.

“I rarely celebrate anything. For anyone who’s watching this that’s wondering how this happened, you know that’s really the answer.”

“It’s being so unsure of how you’re getting it done that you just kind of keep going in the hopes of figuring out the formula,” he said.

“I didn’t really write a grandiose speech about how to make it work or what it took, ’cause you know, to be really honest with you I don’t quite understand it myself.”

It wasn’t the only award Drake walked away with, taking home the ‘Top Streaming Songs Artist’. The Weeknd was the evening’s biggest winner, walking away with a staggering 10 awards.
