Gracie Abrams has earned her first official UK Number 1 album with “The Secret Of Us.” The major milestone for the Californian singer-songwriter arrives a year after her preceding effort, “Good Riddance,” hit Number 3 in 2023.
The success was topped off by Taylor Swift’s surprise appearance at The Eras Tour in London’s Wembley Stadium when both performed the duet “Us” from the album.

She thanked the presenter, saying: “Thank you from the bottom of my heart for somehow making my album The Secret Of Us Number 1 in the UK. I can’t get that around my head.”. This is the first time anything I’ve ever done, ever, anywhere has gone to Number 1. Thank you for believing in the album, thank you for believing in a new band, thank you for listening to it, and thank you for letting it into your lives. It means so much to me, and to the people I’m lucky enough to have made these songs with. I can’t wait for the day when we are all in one place and singing these songs together at a show, dancing. I’ll be crying! I just love you, thank you so much.”
Meanwhile, “The Secret Of Us” climbs to the top in the Official Record Store Chart and Official Vinyl Albums Chart. However, “The Tortured Poets Department” slipped to Number 2 by Taylor Swift after it spent seven weeks reigning at the summit. Now, six albums by Swift feature in the Top 40, indirectly benefiting from her UK tour dates.
Chappell Roan’s debut “The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess” rises to Number 6, and The Mysteries’s “Afraid Of Tomorrows” lands at Number 11. Other movers this week include Foo Fighters, whose albums surge following the news of their return to touring and live performance; Dua Lipa, Benson Boone, Green Day, Avril Lavigne, Ed Sheeran, and The Killers also see their albums rise up the charts on the back of live dates and ongoing touring.
Gracie Abrams will hit the road later this year, playing dates in Southampton, Portland, Seattle, Los Angeles, and more
