MJ Lenderman has formally announced his debut solo headlining tour of Australia, set to take place in March 2025. The tour announcement follows last week’s reveal that Lenderman and his band, The Wind, would headline the final Meadow festival in Bambri, Victoria. Included in Lenderman’s itinerary is a stop at the Sydney Opera House, where the Asheville native will perform in the venue’s concert hall. In a press statement, the Opera House’s creative director Ben Marshall expressed his excitement at booking Lenderman at the venue for his headlining debut. “MJ Lenderman & The Wind’s debut in the Concert Hall next March promises to be a defining moment for indie rock at the House,” he said. As he’s risen the ranks, Lenderman’s magnetic stage presence and musical brilliance have caught the attention of music reviewers and fans alike.”
The tour announcement coincides with Lenderman releasing a music video for ‘You Don’t Know The Shape I’m In’, the latest single from his acclaimed 2024 album Manning Fireworks – which marks his fourth solo album overall. The new video was directed and 3D animated by the collective Empty Party Pictures, which comprises Chuck Shreve and Angel James. It can be viewed below.

The tour will take place just over a year after Lenderman made his Australian debut, where he pulled double duty by playing guitar in Wednesday and opening the band’s headlining shows as a solo artist.
