Wage War have announced their next full-length album, Landfall, set to arrive digitally on Friday, 9th October via Fearless Records (pre-save here).
The Florida metalcore heavyweights have also given us a fresh taste of the record in the form of its crushing title track, which sees the band tapping into their home state’s hurricane season for inspiration.
Wage War – ‘Landfall’
Kicking off with an ominous emergency broadcast-style alarm before detonating into a barrage of groove-heavy riffs, Landfall finds Wage War balancing Briton Bond’s ferocious screams against guitarist Cody Quistad’s melodic vocals.
According to the band, the song uses the threat of an approaching hurricane as a metaphor for those moments when you realise some things are simply beyond your control.
“‘Landfall’ is a song about imminent danger and the realization that we aren’t in control,” Wage War explained.
“Referencing our Florida roots, the hurricane imagery became a way of talking about that feeling of being completely at the mercy of something bigger than yourself.”
That feeling also shaped the track musically, with the band adding: “We wanted the verses to feel heavy and threatening, with the chorus being somber and inevitable.”
Landfall will follow Wage War’s It Calls Me By Name EP, which arrived earlier in 2026.
The forthcoming record marks the latest chapter for the five-piece lineup of Briton Bond, Cody Quistad, Seth Blake, Chris Gaylord and Stephen Kluesener.
The announcement also comes fresh off Wage War’s latest Australian headline tour, which wrapped up in August. The band brought their It Calls Me By Name world tour down under across July and August, joined by Nashville heavy-hitters Orthodox and Melbourne metalcore outfit Heavensgate.
