Australians love Foals, and it’s now very obvious that the feeling is mutual – today the band have announced they will be touring Australia for the second time in 2013, following their Big Day Out performances earlier this year. The band will travel Down Under once more this Spring, hitting most major cities along the way.
The latest album from the current kings of the indie wave, Holy Fire, confirmed all the hype that has been surrounding the band since their inception. The release followed exactly where 2010s Total Live Forever left off, and continues the level of quality we’ve seen the band maintain since their 2008 debut, Antidotes.
That’s not to say that the band isn’t keeping things fresh. Holy Fire is a stand-alone record. As the band describes it, the album is “all guts”. The band elaborated on that, explaining, “The mission we set was to get freer. The focus was on the emotion: from our hearts and our hands, into the instruments and the microphones, then out of a speaker, six months later – and into your ears.”
