‘Sex And The City’ Revival Confirmed With Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon And Kristin Davis

Sex and the City revival is in the works with three of the original series’ main characters over at HBO Max. Original stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis shared the news on social media earlier today. Watch a brief teaser Parker posted on her Instagram below.

All three will return to their roles as Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbes and Charlotte York respectively. Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha Jones in the original series, will not be returning.

As Deadline reports, HBO Max has confirmed the 10-episode series will be titled And Just Like That… and follow Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte navigating life, love and friendship in their 50s. Michael Patrick King, who directed many episodes of the original series, has signed on as an executive producer, alongside Parker, Nixon and Davis. Production is set to begin in New York City in the second quarter of the year.

The original Sex and the City, created by Darren Star for HBO based on Candace Bushnell’s 1997 book of the same name, ran for six seasons between 1998 and 2004. It went on to spawn two feature films – Sex and the City in 2008 and Sex and the City 2 in 2010 – along with the prequel series The Carrie Diaries, which ran between 2013 and 2014.

“I grew up with these characters, and I can’t wait to see how their story has evolved in this new chapter, with the honesty, poignancy, humor and the beloved city that has always defined them,” commented Sarah Aubrey, head of original content at HBO Max, in a statment.
