The New Pollution: # 028 – American Royalty

Much like Queen, The Presidents of the United States of America and Kings of Leon (circa 2004), I’ve always found that bands with grandiose monikers are the ones to watch. American Royalty are no exception.

The Los Angeles band combine blues rock and house dance with some Old West piano thrown in for good measure. Some of their songs sound like a fight for attention between genre, but it works perfectly in featured song Matchstick, which is also the name of their debut EP. It came out on Valentine’s Day and it has three awesome songs on it!

American Royalty sound a bit like Soulwax remixing Cold War Kids … just have a listen.
