Cancer Bats – Ditch moving creatures

As it seems to be a relief to have a short break from touring, there is still no breather for the four-piece Canadian group. Always doing something productive whether it being touring, writing or more touring, the Cancer Bats are one of the hardest working bands in their scene.

Currently on a huge touring circuit, with not leaving many days in between travelling from country to country, the boys have hit the Australian shores and we’re in for a spectacular line up. They’re here in support of another two big metal/hardcore and screaming acts also known as Bring Me The Horizon and Bullet For My Valentine. CB has already had the privilege of sharing the stage with both of these loud acts, however this isn’t the Canadian groups first visit to our Australian shores.

Coming out to a strong start for 2010 and unleashing their latest album Bears, Mayors, Scraps and Bones perhaps their best by far as the album name derives from each of the four members. The long term fans have already heard the shred of bears and bones from CB’s past live acts. We definitely mix it up with playing old and new tracks, and there’s nothing worse than when you go see a band you love and they just focus on their newest album”, says Liam Cormier (lead vocals). “We also know what it’s like being fans and you wanna hear all the songs you’re into. So for us we try and mix it up as much as we can and equal it out with the new and old songs.” Hearing such tracks Sabotage and Dead Wrong from the latest will indeed turn a live audience from rank to ditch moving creatures. “I was kind of half expecting people not to know the words, so when we were playing Dead Wrong at every show, not only were they singing to the chorus, but also the verses and for us it’s wicked to have that kind of response”. CB’s latest album has surely made this hardcore scene alive and kicking for more.

Also on the bill for CB are some headlining shows while here in Australia. The Bats will surely put out more of an explosion, as to an opposed shorter act. Get ready to witness Cancer Bats at their finest as they set out on a destruction of terror, fear and rage. Something that leaks in us all, and it’s due to the fact that this hardcore scene isn’t going to nowhere.
