Here’s 5 UK Artists You Should Be Listening To Right Now, According To Psychedelic Porn Crumpets

Psychedelic Porn Crumpets are basically experts on what’s going on in the UK music scene right now, having just wrapped up a monster tour of the motherland off the steam of their godzilla-sized earworm ‘Bill’s Mandolin’ and subsequent full-length psych masterpiece, And Now For The Whatchamacallit.

And to celebrate their glorious return to home turf, they’ve graciously brought us back a souvenir in the form of this tasty list of UK bands they discovered on their travels, who should be on our musical radar, innit.

So before you head out to catch the Crumpets touring live across the nation this June, study up on the 5 UK artists you should be listening to right now — written in their own hand — below.

Sweedish Death Candy

My ears instantly picked up when hearing this track. At first you get notes of Ty Segal ,Fuzz, Pond, Wand, but then you listen a bit more and get some King Crimson vibes, it’s packed with flavour. Great production too, huge track.

Swedish Death Candy - Last Dream

Magick Mountain

We played with Magick Mountain during one of our favourite gigs last year at the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds. The three-piece have a raw, trippy-grunge sound and have some massive riffs up their sleeves. The writing is backed by seriously tight musicianship that got us super amped to get on stage ourselves. Really excited to hear what they come out with in their debut album (in the works currently!).

The Mysterines

We’ll be playing with The Mysterines all around the U.K in a couple of weeks. The song writing and vocal performances have a really distinctive bite to them, really refreshing tunes that sound absolutely huge live. Stoked to be able to hang out and pickle oursekves with this band!

The Mysterines - Hormone

Moon Panda

Moon Panda were another band that supported us on our last UK run. They lulled the crowd in Birmingham with some kind of hypnosis, which was a pretty nice juxtaposition as we tend to have heavier support acts. They’re studio production is immaculate. Really nice people too.

Neon Waltz

My house mate showed me this band after he got back from the U.K. They were supporting Noel Gallagher so the sound would have been crisp on a larger stage. This tune Bare Wood Aisles has such a great vocal melody, hooked me in instantly and you get tranced waiting for it to happen again. Interested to see what direction they head in next.
