Music Feeds Podcast Episode #64 – Amanda Palmer

Punk cabaret pioneer Amanda Palmer is currently on Australian shores to perform 10 very special solo shows exclusively for Sydney Festival 2014. Music Feeds’ very own Mike Hohnen spoke to Palmer from “on a couch” in Massachusetts prior to her Australian trip for this edition of Music Feeds Podcast.

Palmer delves into theories about why her music resonates so strongly with Australian audiences. “Australians seem to really love Regina Spektor and The Gossip and Pink and stuff that does okay in the States,” she says. “Australians, unlike Americans, seem to somehow treasure opinionated women.”

Having just toured behind her acclaimed 2012 album with The Grand Theft Orchestra titled Theatre Is Evil, Palmer is filling her solo shows with a mixture of glam rock, 80s pop and dark-comedy cabaret. Check out her Sydney Festival tour dates below.
