Music Feeds Podcast Episode #74 – John Newman

John Newman is one of the UK music scene’s brightest up-and-comers, first turning heads as the silver-voiced croon in Rudimental‘s Feel the Love, before topping the UK charts with his own single Love Me Again. Music Feeds recently caught up with John ahead of his upcoming Australian tour.

“I started off in Leeds in the north of England with a little acoustic guitar playing in front of ten people and now I’m doing gigs in front of two thousand people with a full band and full production. It feels incredible, man,” he says, the speed with which his star has risen not lost on the 23-year-old.

John will touchdown in April for his Aussie headline tour, presented by Music Feeds, but recently he’s been busying himself with work on album number two. “If [other artists] are the creative people they say they are, how do they not go crazy when they’re [on tour and] not making music?” he asks.

“The whole family comes to my shows, from the young daughter to the grandma,” says John. “That’s incredible for me. The last time I came to Australia I was treated so well by the people, it was incredible… I can’t wait to come and perform as a way of saying thank-you as an artist.”
