PREMIERE: Club Yorke Unveil Epic Heart-On-Sleeve Single ‘Stop The Bleeding’

Melbourne-based outfit Club Yorke might only be introducing themselves to the Australian music scene, but that hasn’t stopped them from doing so with a certain panache. Today, said panache is on full display with the release of their brand new single ‘Stop The Bleeding’, which we’re stoked to be premiering on Music Feeds.

‘Stop The Bleeding’ wastes no time, ushered in with the barrelling vocals of frontman Sam Burtt before the instruments catch up, crawling their way into a roaring chorus you’d more so expect from the likes of Bruce Springsteen than a group from Victoria. ‘Stop The Bleeding’ isn’t just musically epic, but thematically, with the band wearing their heart on their sleeve to deliver a perfectly articulated emotional message.

Speaking of the origins of ‘Stop The Bleeding’, Burtt revealed the track fell into the group’s lap out of nowhere following a period of tightened uncertainty.

“We wrote ‘Stop The Bleeding’ towards the end of what I guess was really an accidental hiatus. We had been writing a lot of stuff that we were proud of and tweaking it here and there in preparation for a new single but one rehearsal, this song just happened. I remember having one kind of improvised run through of it and it all just fell into place from there, it was really one of those special rare moments where the song really writes itself. Discovering it rather than contriving it from nothing.”

Those playing along at time may recognise Burtt’s name, or perhaps the vocalist’s well-known and endearing wailing as Club Yorke is the reincarnation of former project Residual. Club Yorke will take to stages around Australia alongside fellow Melbourne indie group, Empire Park who themselves are unveiling a stunning new EP this Friday May 18th.
