Fresh-faced Sydney trio Crane Games have blessed us with a new track from their forthcoming debut EP, a summery indie rock jam dubbed ‘Ominous’.
Premiering via Music Feeds, the hook-laden bop packs a road trip-ready chorus which sounds like the true blue ‘Strayan lovechild of Hoodoo Gurus and Dick Diver.
“‘Ominous’ is track one on our debut EP [Forecast, out 5th November],” say the band.
“While writing these songs, we were thinking a lot about the future — what it might hold for us as well as for everyone else.
“‘Ominous’ is a bit of a warning bell. But we think it’s kind of uplifting in its own way, too.”
Crane Games will play a handful of live dates in Sydney to celebrate the release of their Forecast EP (which is also being released on 7″ vinyl), culminating with the official EP launch at the Botany View Hotel on Saturday, 17th November.
Catch all the details of their live dates — and take ‘Ominous’ for a spin — below.
