PREMIERE: Dear Seattle Face The Music In New ‘Afterthought’ Video

Sydney’s Dear Seattle are on a roll, serving up another belting, honest and melodic indie rock tune with their latest single ‘Afterthought’, which has now been given the video treatment and is premiering here today.

The video’s story follows on where the narrative of their break-out single ‘The Meadows’ left off, our protagonist waking up after a big night and facing a set of consequences set in motion from events of the night before.

“We’ve all had that hungover wake up where it feels like you’re living in a snow globe and someone’s come along during the night and shaken the fuck out of it,” explains frontman Brae Fisher. “You’ve got missed calls, angry messages, a thumper of a headache and no recollection of what you’ve done wrong. ‘Afterthought’ explores this through the retelling of a breakup, initiated as a result of the childish larrikinism in ‘The Meadows’.

“More importantly, however, it looks at the post-breakup reflection. That sweet and fleeting moment of clarity after you’ve been severed from a long dying relationship – that happiness you feel when you realise the relationship changed you and was slowly erasing your true character.”

Catch Dear Seattle live when they support Columbus as well as Tired Lion at a handful of upcoming shows. Rase your beers in the air and watch the video for ‘Afterthought’ here below.
