PREMIERE: Melbourne Metalcore Crew Windwaker Unleash New Groove Monster ‘The Sitch’

Written by Emmy Mack on January 31, 2019

Melbourne’s Windwaker have unfurled the maiden cut of their brand new EP Empire and it’s a heavy grooving monster.

Dubbed ‘The Sitch’, the single comes packing a rip-snorter of a music video which you can catch premiering via Music Feeds below.

Speaking about the single, Windwaker vocalist Will King says it differs in tone from their last album, which was “deeply rooted in post-adolescent feelings of pain and loneliness”.

“As a band, it’s safe to say that we all had this strong desire to redeem ourselves of those sole qualities,” he confesses.

“I think we have always feared trapping ourselves in a box, kept in by 1-dimensional expectations, and we are very conscious of not allowing that influence to hinder our creativity. We are absolutely not a band who is going to sit around all day writing the same songs over and over again. It’s just not going to happen.”

And indeed, ‘The Sitch’ is almost aggressively uplifting!

Take it for a spin below, and you can preorder the band’s new EP Empire before it drops on March 22nd right here.
