PREMIERE: Listen To Openfire.’s Smoky New Single ‘Wonderland’

On new single ‘Wonderland’, which we’re premiering here at Music Feeds ahead of it dropping on Friday, Adelaide rockers Openfire. cite the likes of Matt Corby and Tame Impala as influences.

Those reference points feel immediately apparent – it’s a lush yet propulsive track, with reverb-soaked guitars punctuated by blistering drums and some very, very fun grooves. The spacious track sees frontman Luka Sandeo meditate on life, career, the price of success and the pursuit of the dream.

“Wonderland both embodies the smokey, mysterious struggle in the dark of the rabbithole and the victory or triumph over fear in leaping head first into the wildest adventure of your life,” explains Sandeo.

“Going into the studio, we as a band aim to create music that illustrates itself, and for each song to be a world that you step into. Wonderland plays with what the world looks like when your reality and stability is questioned, bringing to mind neon lights in nature, glitter, pattern clashing.”

‘Wonderland’ was written and recorded by the band themselves at their home studio, crafted with care and attention to each individual aspect. From there, the track was mixed and mastered by Alex Mader of Disk Edits.
