PREMIERE: Sydney’s Before The King Tackle Toxic Relationships On Vibrant New Single ‘Cold Shoulder’

Eora/Sydney-based garage-rock quartet Before the King have a brand new single to share with the world, dubbed ‘Cold Shoulder’. The track is officially out on Friday, 1st July, but we’re premiering it exclusively on Music Feeds.

‘Cold Shoulder’ is Before the King’s first release of 2022. The band’s previous single was ‘Fast Machine’, which came out in October 2021.

“The relationship was traumatic, and often toxic – releasing this song is like a full-stop for that chapter of my life.”

The vibrant ‘Cold Shoulder’ was produced and mixed by Chloe Dadd (Polish Club, The Buoys) and written about a toxic romance. “‘Cold Shoulder’ was the last song I wrote about one of my ex-girlfriends,” vocalist Dean Smusko explained in a statement.

“The relationship was traumatic, and often toxic – releasing this song is like a full-stop for that chapter of my life.”

‘Cold Shoulder’ is taken from Before the King’s forthcoming EP, All That You Know, which is due for release on Friday, 5th August. To celebrate the release, the band will be performing a launch show at Sydney’s iconic Lansdowne Hotel on Saturday, 27th August.
