PREMIERE: Will Anderson Runs Free In Stunning ‘Notions’ Video

Gold Coast-based artist Will Anderson possess talent beyond his mere 19 years. The young muso (not the comedian) is sure to soon be a household name, and the masterful blending of soulful vocals with soaring production and, somewhat surprisingly, didgeridoo riffs on his new single ‘Notions’ proves why.

According to Anderson, ‘Notions’ is about following your gut and trusting your instincts, despite what others might be telling you. “The song is a conversation about loving someone or something and having influential people around you oppose it and advise against it,” he explains. “It’s about saying ‘fuck it’ and letting yourself love who you love and do what you love.”

In The video for ‘Notions’, Anderson takes this sentiment and runs with it, literally. Shot against a beautiful scenic Byron Bay background, the clip depicts the young artist throwing caution to the wind and letting go.

“I loved studying film throughout school but never took the class seriously, thinking, ‘When am I ever going to use this in real life?” For me, it was just an artistic release,” Anderson tells Music Feeds. “Two years down the track and I decided to blow the dust off my old textbooks and directed my own music video alongside the team at Flamingo Amigos in Byron Bay. With the limited time and resources I had, I created a minimalistic idea for the video based on the idea of letting go of anchoring memories that hold you down. We filmed the video around the breathtaking bushland and beaches of Byron Bay, across two days and it was some of the most fun I have had in my life.”
