Premiere: Stream Wing Defence’s New EP ‘Friends’ Ahead Of Its Release

On their forthcoming, and aptly-titled, EP Friends, Adelaide indie pop-punk duo Wing Defence explore the importance of friendships throughout all stages of life, a lesson learned through the growth of their own connection as songwriting partners and friends over the years.

“Wing Defence seemed to form at a time when all of us were facing a huge crossroad in our lives and needed to find refuge. Needed to find friendship and laughter in the hard times,” explain the pair. “We needed to make light of our common struggles and lift each other up. Through this, we found really strong friendships, hence the EP titled ‘Friends’. The entire EP really developed and became one huge counselling session!”

Said sessions occurred across different Adelaide locations with the aid of Mario Späte (Montaigne, Jess Kent) and their own guitarist, Benny Tamblyn-Morrow and engineers Wade Keighran and Rick O’Neill. The result is a fuzzy, guitar-driven and hook-heavy collection of pop-punk treats. Each infused with those signature WD vocals.

The Friends EP is out this Friday, July 3rd, but you can stream it right now.
