21-Year-Old Uni Student Dies After Attending Ultra Music Festival

Ultra Music Festival has confirmed that 21 year-old Adam Levine has died after attending the event last weekend.

Ray Martinez, chief of security at Ultra, confirmed that Levine had passed away after being taken to hospital following treatment by festival medical staff.

“Our security personnel noticed that Adam was having difficulties and immediately called Miami Fire paramedics so medical assistance could occur,” he said. “From what we have been told, paramedics initiated medical treatment and transported Adam to Jackson Memorial Hospital. Most unfortunately, Adam passed away at the hospital.”

The University of Miami student had reportedly spent part of 2015 studying at the University of Technology, Sydney.

UMiami posted a tribute message on its Facebook page on Saturday. It praised the young student, saying, “Adam was a hardworking, passionate leader who always dedicated himself completely to every project he was involved with. In addition to his leadership, we will always remember his warm, outgoing personality and his incredible ability to brighten anyone’s day.”

It is thought that Levine died of complications related to a seizure whilst at the festival, however an official cause of death has not been released at this point in time. Police have confirmed that they are investigating the details surrounding the incident.

The news comes soon after NSW Premier Mike Baird condemned the introduction of pill testing at festivals in Australia, despite numerous calls from experts, artists and punters advocating the introduction of the procedure.
