A Mural Of SOPHIE Has Gone Up In Sydney Just In Time For Mardi Gras

A mural of the late pioneering producer SOPHIE has gone up in the Sydney suburb or Erskineville, ahead of this weekend’s Mardi Gras celebrations.

The mural was done by famed Sydney artist Scott Marsh (@scottie.marsh on Instagram) and it was also done right next to another of Marsh’s murals – Saint George Michael.

The artwork was co-ordinated by production due Stereogamous – Paul Mac and Jonny Seymour – who shared photos of it on social media.

“We honour & respect this heroic artist who ascended from this realm too soon,” Stereogamous wrote on Twitter alongside photos of the mural.

“Grateful for her bravery & musical legacy. She now glows gloriously next to dear Saint George Michael at this memorial park.”

SOPHIE passed away in late January after a “sudden accident” in Athens, where she was living at the time.

Tributes poured in from across the music world, from the likes of Charli XCX, Flume, Rihanna, Sam Smith, Cupcakke, FINNEAS, Christine & The Queens and more.
